Al-Vita is a healthcare unit that was created to satisfy our clients’ needs with regards to health and social support, promoting quality of life for the elderly or those who are dependent on others.
It has been open in the Quinta da Ouriva neighbourhood of Portimão, since 2011 and comprises the following:

Al-Vita’s mission is to provide a health care and social support that is geared towards those in situations of dependency, to the highest levels of quality and efficiency, focussing on a quick recovery and social-familial reintegration.
With the vision of being a reference unit for patients and colleagues, our Health Care Unit aims to provide services and health care that is distinguished by innovation, customisation, and quality.
As values, it advocates excellence, commitment, integrity, responsibility, talent and innovation; the providing of individual and humane care, and the safeguarding of identity, privacy, information, non-discrimination, physical and moral integrity, citizenship and informed consent of interventions.
As is the involvement and co-responsibilisation of patients and their families / informal caregivers or legal representatives throughout the preparation and implementation of individual intervention plans, including decisions regarding mobility and discharge.
Al-Vita further aims to maximise the comfort, functions and social support for patients and their families / informal caregivers.
Al-Vita, hereinafter referred to as a ‘Unit’, encompasses all aspects of Convalescence, Medium-Term In-Patient Care and Rehabilitation. These are aimed at people who need medical rehabilitation care and psychosocial support as convalescing or medium term in-patients. The objective is \\"to contribute to the welfare and quality of life of the patient, providing care that leads to their stabilisation and potential rehabilitation.\\"

The Al-Vita Long-Term Care Unit was the winner of the Rede Com Arte (Network with Art) competition, launched by the Regional Continuous Care Coordination Team (ECRCCI) for the Algarve, which aims to stimulate the promotion of patients’ functional autonomy, through encouraging and rewarding their creativity in creating works of visual art.
The Al-Vita Long-Term Care Unit won 3rd prize in the RNCCI Algarve’s 2ND Regional Good Practices Congress. The award’s main objective is to showcase Best Practices, with a view to replicating the gains within the health system to improve it. It also aims to prompt change, bringing together the most favourable conditions in order to build upon them, in cases of excellence, illustrating Good Practices that should be generalised in the future.

No, there is no registration fee. The sole condition is the payment of a deposit, returned upon departure of the Unit regardless of the reason behind the departure.
